From 29 June to 16 July 2023 the 2023 edition of Theater der Welt is taking place in the cities of Frankfurt am Main and Offenbach am Main in Germany, for this edition a Programme Directorship is searched by the organisers. Individuals as well as groups can apply until 31 January 2021.
The 2023 edition of the "Theater der Welt" festival will take place in Frankfurt am Main and Offenbach. For the first time in the festival’s history, three equal partners from different fields of cultural work will collaborate as the festival organisers: a repertoire and ensemble theatre, an international production house for independent performing arts and a museum that stands for an innovative understanding of arts, design, fashion and performance.
The "Theater der Welt" (in eng.: theatre of the world) is a festival founded by the German Centre of the International Theater Institute (ITI). Since 1981 it takes place in a different city or region in Germany with different artistic directorship for a period of about two and a half weeks. Ground-breaking performances and theatre production from all over the world are presented. In 2023 Theater der Welt will be organised as a joint project by Künstlerhaus Mousonturm Frankfurt am Main, an international production house for contemporary performing arts, Museum Angewandte Kunst Frankfurt am Main, an innovative Museum for art and design and Schauspiel Franktfurt, Städtische Buhne Frankfurt am Main a municipal repertory theatre with a permanent ensemble. As an associated Partner the Amt für Kulturmanagment der Stadt Offenbach will join the organisers.

Individuals as well as groups can apply until 31 January 2021. The applicants should have experience in organizing international festivals or similar events in the field of performing arts, capability to lead an independent festival team, experience in managing budgets responsible and independent as well as skills and talent to compose and present an unique international festival programme. The applicants should be fluent in English or German as well.
The organizers explicitly encourage applications from abroad and overseas who are willing to work in the Frankfurt-Offenbach region between June 2021 and August 2023.
